My seller here was one of those smart, young women that I love to blog about.  When she purchased the house in 2017, she was only 24 years old and the entire second floor was unfinished.  What a project she tackled!  The house now has a magnificent, second floor, primary suite!  It has a full bathroom, a walk-in closet, a bonus room and plenty of wow-factor.   Buying the house when she did combined with the hard work she put in made it possible for her to cash-out for a great profit in a short period.  I love stories like hers!  Listen up, young people!  Buying real estate now sets you up for a brighter financial future!  

Sean and I recently took a nice little road trip down to Virginia which everyone knows, is for lovers.  It was also our 12th wedding anniversary so the shoe fit.  We highly recommend stopping at a Virginia welcome center where you can not only get pictures with the LOVERS signs, but you can also try the famous Virginia peanuts for FREE.  The staff are also super friendly and helpful with info on all things local.  

We stayed in Portsmouth on the Elizabeth River right next to the Naval Shipyard Museum so the theme of our vacation was ships.  They were everywhere! 

We explored the greater Portsmouth, Norfolk and Chesapeake areas.  We ate and drank our fair share at quite a few lovely restaurants and breweries.  And we both got a cool new tattoo from our friends Annette and Steve who have one of the coolest shops we've visited!  (But more on that in another post,)  For now, more ships!

And our pro-tip for when you're road trippin' yourself... STOP at the scenic overlooks.  It doesn't take a lot of time and you will often see something beautiful.  We found this gorgeous and deserted beach.  We let the wind whip us around and wake us up and got back on the road feeling so much better for it!

Meet the Diaz family!  This wonderful crew had enough of the Florida heat and decided it was time to head back to Connecticut for a change in scenery and the change of seasons.  They made it just in time for the holidays and I'm hoping they get to enjoy a white Christmas.  I loved working with this family!  From our first phone call I knew they would be great.  They had a lot to do; sell their FL house, find a CT house and move their family of five up here.  They asked great questions, they made a plan, they got organized and they made it happen.  The first day we looked at houses was November 8th and the photo above was taken on December 15th!   So many things to do in such a short period of time would be stressful for anyone, these guys never even showed a sign of it!  Cool, calm and collected through the whole process, all of them!  It was amazing!  So congratulations to the Diaz family and welcome back to CT!!  

Selling the ol' family homestead can be challenging and emotional but these sister and brothers were up for it!  Their mother was the only owner of this home built in 1961!  So lots of family history here!  The great thing about a one-owner property is that you have so much more information available to you about the overall condition and of the maintenance performed over the years.  These guys worked together, got the place cleaned out, made some small repairs and handed me the keys.  We sold within nine days on the market and a good deal was reached for both the sellers and the buyer!  Congratulations everyone!  

This lake house package was the stuff that dreams are made of!  Two houses for one price with 200 feet of water frontage on the super desirable Little Alum Pond in Brimfield, MA.  I'm so grateful to have had the opportunity to help this family sell these unique houses.  Selling two houses as one package required some creative thinking at each step in the process from pricing to marketing to managing property tours,  I can proudly say I nailed it!  It was my most popular listing of all time!   The biggest challenges were responding to the overwhelming amount of inquiries, controlling the traffic at the showing appointments and then organizing and presenting the many offers to the seller.  In the end the seller made an excellent and thoughtful choice when selecting the winning offer and things went quite smoothly overall.  I'm sure going to miss this one but am glad for the quality time I got to spend here.  I know the owners are going to LOVE it too.  Congratulations to everyone! 

Meet Scott, Eli, Lindsey and Silas! These guys had been thinking about moving to CT from NY for awhile.  A job transfer for Scott turned up the heat on that back burner and we got down to business in late October.  We explored some great towns from Middlebury to Shelton and landed on "the one" in Seymour.  Lucky #13!  This unique, antique house was a bit too close to the road for their preference initially but what it lacked in front yard space it made up for with a large two-car barn with loft out back.  Plus it checked all the other boxes.  The house is loaded with character and I'm very much looking forward to seeing how these guys make it their own.  I'm hoping they get their very own Cthulhu rug for their entryway.  And if you happen to live in the greater Seymour area this one will be worth a drive by next Halloween season!  Congratulations and welcome to CT!!!
