On the third Tuesday of the month if you're an early riser you can find me on the radio on Bob Plasse's morning show, WOW! It's Tuesday. Tune in every Tuesday to WSKB, 89.5FM.  Bob will keep you up to speed on all things Westfield on Weekends. When I'm on the show we talk about books, bees and real estate.  On this month's show we discussed a New York Times best seller we both loved, The Correspondent by Virginia Evans and his "currently reading" book, The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov, a book my husband loves but that I could not finish.  I highly recommend The Correspondent.  Have you read it yet?  If so, what did you think? 

Here is this year's Valentine card.  Sending love through the mail brings me joy.  The response I receive lifts me up and carries me through the rest of the winter season.  Thank you SO much to everyone who replies!  You are my favorites!!

On the coldest night of the year so far, this group of brave beekeepers scaled Prospect Mountain in Granville, MA.  The reward at the top?  MEAD!  Daggers Meadery to be specific!  If you like mead you must visit!  If you have never tried mead, you must visit!  What is mead, you ask?  Honey wine!  Thank the bees again! 

The Hampden County Beekeepers Association (HCBA) board of directors meets quarterly outside of our regular monthly beekeeping club meetings to keep all things HCBA running smoothly.  We like to move locations each quarter (and are open to suggestions if you have a good one in western mass).  But it is not likely that our last meeting destination can bee topped!  See what I did there?  Of course you do!  

If you like wineries, breweries, good food and good times, plan a visit to Daggers Meadery.  Our group had a fabulous time.  We were able to take care of business while trying several meads and flat bread pizzas.  The tasting room is cozy and welcoming and staff are friendly and accommodating.  Meads are available by tasting, by flight and by the bottle.  Good luck choosing your favorite! 

Meet Jen and Jess!  Thank them for their service!  These ladies just wanted to use their VA benefit for their mortgage.  Sadly, because the competition is still so fierce for buyers in this market, it wasn't easy for them to do.  Sellers and listing agents will still give preference to conventional loans over government funded ones.  So we faced a few losses before finding the one in Marlborough.  You can see from the sale vs list price that they had to go HARD to get this one.  In the end it was totally worth it.  They got more space than they needed and the seller threw in a free, friendly ghost!  Be cool, Franklin!  Congratulations, Jen & Jess!  I'll be over for game night!

The year's Christmas photo was taken with a real film camera by our good friend, Kyla Young.  We were on the S.S. Neverender together so this picture was taken somewhere in the Gulf or Caribbean sea.  Whichever it was, being in the middle of it gave me a whole new kind of anxiety!

Meet Steve and Gentri!  A new job for Steve meant a big move for them!  With unique interests in home style and a wide spread search area we looked a all kinds of houses in a variety of towns.  Finding the one in Stafford was a nice surprise.  Newer than most of the others we looked at, this house had the perfect amount of charming character combined with a great semi-private location in a comfortable, commutable distance from Steve's work.  The dogs are going to love the yard and Gentri has plenty of space to fill with beautiful antiques!  Just in time for Christmas!  Congratulations Steve and Gentri!!

Look at these happy home owners!  Meet Jake and Katie!  With work commutes in opposite directions, location was a top priority for these first-time buyers.  They did an excellent job finding the middle in Stafford.  They also did an excellent job on their sales price!  Move-in ready and under $300K is almost unheard of in this market!  A sweet deal for a very sweet couple.  Congratulations Jake and Katie!
