46 Edgewood St #57 Stafford, CT 06076 2 Bedroom, 2.5 Bathroom $1250 per month Christin and I had looked at a few places for her in late March. She picked her favorite, her application package was approved and she was ready to move in for May 1st. Unfortunately, mid-April was upon us and the occupying tenant showed no signs of being ready to be out of there in time for Christin to move in. What to do? Find another place fast! It was like the universe handed us this place right when she needed it. Two bedrooms, two and a half baths, laundry hook-ups on the second floor and a garage! Christin will be working from her new home office in style by May 1st after all!

Have I been delivered to your mailbox? 1 Forest Glen #14 Middletown, CT 06457 2 Bedroom, 2 Bathroom $1395 per month What a great condo! Brandon and Krista were living in Vernon and each commuting to Madison and Southington for work. They decided they needed a more central location to make getting to work easier for each of them. We found it in Middletown! This condo had everything they were looking and more! 2 bedrooms, 2 bathroom, fireplace, private deck, a dishwasher and laundry in the unit! It's even pet friendly! Good luck at your new and more conveniently located condo, guys!
My wonderful friend, Andy, rolled into town this morning with a trailer full of honey bees. He drove all night, hauling them up from Georgia and even with the drastic change in weather from there to here, he managed to keep all of his almost 4oo packages of bees alive and well. Good job, Andy! There were many happy beekeepers picking up their honeybee packages for install today. We're starting three new hives, so I got three, 3 lb packages of honey bees. I love shaking packages*, and if you're a successful beekeeper, you don't get to do it every year. It was the silver lining to our hive losses last fall, at least I would get to shake 3 packages in the spring. Except my bad luck with bees seems to be turning into a streak. It was SO cold today. Too cold for the bees to fly. Too cold to shake packages. So now what? I huddled up with my beekeeping comrades and we decided that this year, instead of shaking our packages into our hives, we would gently place the entire open package inside the hive after removing and installing the queen cage and hope the bees would get the idea and find their way out of one box and into another. So that's what I did. It was even too cold to slow things down by taking pictures or video. I didn't want the bees to get a chill so I popped them in and closed them up as quick as I could. Now we wait three days before we check them again. Please, please Aristaeus, help the bees figure it out! *Shaking packages is what I call the process of installing a new package of honey bees into a hive. You literally pour bees from a box with a hole in the top into a hive. To get as many bees out as possible, some shaking is necessary. Package bees are super calm at this point because they do not have a hive to defend. It's a really fun time. (That I won't get to enjoy this year!) Hoping to have a nice progress update midweek and if the weather is good, lots of photos and video of the new hives in action. We've got some beautiful queens I want to show off. In the mean time, here's some old pictures and an old video of our very first install... The Martins have brunch! A few weeks ago, I had some Sunday morning real estate showing appointments way down in Bridgeport, CT. At the time I was trying to maximize the quality time I spent with Sean before he left for his next tour. But I still had to work. What to do, what to do? Bribe Sean with brunch! He could ride with me to my appointments, and after I showed a few houses, we could go to brunch! Waiting in the car while I show houses is not a super fun way to pass time, so bless Sean for taking one for our team once and a while so we can get that extra hang time in! It was a very cold and very rainy Sunday in early March and we couldn't have picked a better spot for brunch. The only thing I don't like about Brennan's Shebeen Irish Bar & Grill is that it is too far away for us to go EVERY Sunday! We got to Brennan's around noon, the fire was roaring and we got a seat right next to it. There was a three piece jazz ensemble playing the whole time we were there and they were awesome! They had $5 bloody marys and mimosas, and I love a good deal on a breakfast drink! They offer a full Irish breakfast on their brunch menu which you can order with or without a Guinness (Sean opted for with). And I felt like we were back in Ireland too, since I ordered the veggie omelette and it had corn in it. In Ireland they put corn on everything including sandwiches and pizza. Weird, but kind of good. For an Irish pub in CT, Brennan's sure felt authentic! We had a leisurely and cozy meal by the fire, service was super friendly and our brunch date at Brennan's made the trip to Bridgeport more than worthwhile. Definitely try it if you're in the area!
