​Work in real estate long enough and you'll have some tales to tell.  I think it's time I share some of mine.  Names and addresses withheld to protect the innocent.  

You've been warned, I am burning this on Sunday.  This was found in the laundry room of a house I showed that was listed for sale "subject to probate approval".  That is usually a fantastic indicator that the owner has died.  I showed this property several times and each time the house was in a different state of clean out.  Boxes would be packed and stacked, furniture would be moved or removed and there were always different piles around of "keep, sell, trash or donate".  But the notes were what got me.  They were all over the house and seemed to be communications between two parties who were working together to empty the place while never actually being there at the same time.  Estranged siblings?  Maybe they just had opposite schedules?  Or agreed to split the chore evenly each in their own time?  I'll never know.  The note pictured above was my favorite.  What was in that box?  (I didn't look, none of my business).  Why did the contents need to be burned instead of thrown out?  And why wait until Sunday?  I'll never know.  

Remember Traveling?  Moving freely about the world is one of the biggest things I miss since this pandemic hit.  But I don't like to think about that, so it's time to reminisce... 

Sometime in 2019, I turned 40.  To celebrate this milestone birthday, I wanted to go on a trip.  I had no idea where I wanted to go, but did have some other specifics in mind... I started to scour the internet for ideas and was immediately overwhelmed by all the choices.  Enter Storied Adventures! 

I called Janine and after at 30 minute consultation over the phone, she got to work!  She sent me options for destinations, then options for places to stay, then for activities, dining and tours.  She narrowed everything down for me, took care of booking everything and all I had to do was show up at the airport!  She also was able to suggest unique options for me that I would have never considered for myself and I'm so happy to have taken advantage of them!  A private, candle lit dinner for two on Bermuda's Elbow Beach on my birthday is just one example of the experience of a lifetime Janine created for me.  If like me,  you love to travel but don't love to plan PLEASE call Janine to book your next adventure.  When someone else takes care of the details, it's amazing how much MORE fun you can have!  Below are some pictures from our epic birthday trip to Bermuda...

So happy to have met and helped the Walker family with the sale of their CT home!  With Mom and Dad moving back to IL and the girls staying in CT but moving to different towns, there was a lot of moving going on!  We all worked together to get it done!  I'm happy to say that on closing day, all four Walkers have already comfortably settled in to their new digs.  What's better than that?  

Today was the first day I've been able to see my mother since early March.  We both had to wear masks and we had to sit six feet apart, but it was so good to be with her!  She lives at Parkway Pavilion and they have done an excellent job keeping us in touch with our loved ones.  We've had lots of FaceTime, they recently added window visits and now that the weather is nice, we're finally allowed outdoor, socially distanced visits.  I will say, it was incredibly hard to see her after all this time and not be able to hug her, but I'm still following the rules (for now).  I cried like a baby when they brought her outside, but it was mostly from the joy of seeing her in real life.  Keep up the good work, Parkway Pavilion!  Keep them safe and keep them healthy we all have so many hugs to make up for.  Soon.
