I LOVE little libraries and in my travels I see more and more of them popping up.  For those who don't know...

What is a Little Library?
 A Little Library is a “take a book, return a book” FREE book exchange. They come in many shapes and sizes, but the most common version is a small wooden box of books. Anyone may take a book or bring a book to share. Little Library book exchanges have a unique, personal touch. There is an understanding that real people are sharing their favorite books with their community.  

I recently notice this Little Library pop up next to the Thompsonville Fire Station.  As soon as I saw it, I knew that was where the next book I finished was going to end up.  So I just finished reading Made for Love by Alissa Nutting and I dropped it off at the Little Library at the Thompsonville Fire Station.  The original book cover and synopsis are posted below.  It was a super weird book, but funny and fun to read!  If you've read the book, I'd love to hear what you thought of it, please comment below.  And if you want to read the book, there's a free copy up for grabs in the Little Library!  There are few other good books in there too, quite a few kids books and a battered copy of Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintence.

Our bees made us a beautiful amber honey this summer and we're finally ready to share it with you!   It's dangerous and sticky business, stealing honey from bees but we Martins love a challenge!  If you love small batch honey and supporting your local (or not so local) beekeepers, pop over to Deathwish and order some today.  There is a very limited quantity available and this honey just won a 3rd place ribbon in it's category at the Big E!  It's THAT good!  (More on that in a future post.)

We picked up two ribbons at the Big E this year!  Our amber honey won a 2nd place ribbon and our dark honey won a 3rd place ribbon!  The contest is judged by a certified honey judge, and the honey is judged on density, absence of crystals, cleanliness and flavor.  We deliver our unmarked jars to the fair grounds before opening day and the contest is judged the day before the fair opens.  All of the contestants' jars are then displayed for the duration of the fair with the winning jars wearing their ribbons.  The honey display can be found inside the "Farmarama" or Stroh building, right next to a live beehive!  

We love The Big E and volunteer every year to work in our beekeeping club's booth to help spread the word about the honey bee!  Our beekeeping journey started at The Big E so it holds a special place in our hearts.  Did you attend this year?  If so, what did you eat?  

This was an extra fun one!  My buyer clients on this one, Sarah and Razz, are special to me for a number of reasons, we need not get into the more emotional ones right now (sniff)... but I will mention that they are fun and funny and I love them for it.  Since I've been working with them, I've improved on my Queen's English, and I've laughed more than you should be allowed to at work.  And I'm pretty sure the alias "Dick Wiggles" is not going to ever come up at the closing table again.  I couldn't make that up!  I'm so glad they picked me to help them when they were ready to purchase their second house. I'm also glad they let me talk them into landlord-ing instead of selling their first house.  Let's hope they like it!  

Also... respect for going from the closing table straight to the new hot tub!
