I believe that open discussions about death and dying and knowledge of our own mortality and the mortality of those we love are important factors to living a full and satisfying life. So let's get that conversation started!
After learning about green burial, I decided it was for me! What is green burial?
"Green burial is an unencumbered return to earth and re-entry into the life cycle. There is no embalming, there are no vaults, no ornate caskets. The materials used to enshroud the deceased are of locally sourced, readily biodegradable materials. Our bodies are allowed to be the nourishment from which a new forest will grow. But this is only part of the picture with a green burial ground. The individual is guaranteeing that a forest that will always be conserved on their behalf. A living memorial for loved ones to visit, and an example for future generations of responsibility, stewardship and respect for the earth’s fragile, yet resilient beauty."- Connecticut Green Burial Grounds
