This was my very first not-so-short sale. They should really call them LONG sales instead of short sales. My incredibly patient client made an offer on this house in October of 2017. That's right folks, it took 10 long months for this SHORT sale to close. My client was rewarded for his saintly patience with a good house in a great neighborhood for a very low price. And he's going to make his good house great in no time with a little sweat equity. So if you've got the patience it takes to wait out the banks, buying a short sale property may be worth looking into. If you are on any kind of timeline at all... not so much.
I sincerely had a great time getting to know my client and the listing agent as we all rode the short-sale-approval-process rollercoaster together. Everyone involved did their best to stay positive and (at least pretend to) not get frustrated by the process.
